Benfica have turned down Trabzonspor’s opening offer for Gianluca Prestianni, and the club from Türkiye remain determined to sign the Argentine this summer.
Fanatik reports that Trabzonspor are preparing to increase their bid to €18m, edging closer to Benfica’s stance but still short of a figure the Lisbon side deem acceptable.
If completed, it would be the most expensive deal in Trabzonspor’s history. Their current record was set only days ago with the €13m arrival of 24-year-old Aral Simsir from Midtjylland.
The payment structure remains the major sticking point. Trabzonspor do not plan to pay the full €18m upfront, with a fixed €13m to €14m likely to be spread across instalments, a formula that is not convincing Benfica.
Prestianni, 20, is under contract until 2029 and is viewed at the Estádio da Luz as a long-term project. Rui Costa’s board are not looking to sell, and would consider a departure only if a financially irresistible offer arrives.
