Our first two weeks of training under new coach Pepijn Lijnders are over, and our boys travelled to Saalfelden after their friendly match yesterday to start a training camp.
Dedic, Konate & Co will be fine-tuning at the Hotel Gut Brandlhof's own training pitches as the pre-season continues. Our side will be working intensively towards the season ahead until 17 July, with the big kick-off coming on 26 July with the first round of the cup at FC Dornbirn. A total of 12 training sessions are scheduled at the camp along with two friendly matches (against Sparta Prague and HNK Rijeka).
The hotel is one we know well from recent years. Other well-known clubs such as Liverpool (with Pep Lijnders), Newcastle United, RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach have made pre-season training bases here.
A total of 33 players have made the journey to the training camp, with our injured and recovering players to complete individual programmes. Petar Ratkov is to rejoin training on 10 July, while Strahinja Pavlovic and Luka Sucic, who appeared in all three group stage matches at Euro 2024, will be given a longer break and are expected back on 19 July.
