Preparing for the start of the Club World Cup

On our first day in the USA today, our boys were welcomed by a torrential downpour. In the quiet suburb of Morristown, New Jersey – just a few kilometres away from New York City, the day was all about getting over jet lag as much as possible.

The Red Bulls' team hotel is quite a sight.

By the time we set off for the training centre of the New York Red Bulls, everyone was wide awake. Our Red Bulls completed their first training session there ahead of our Club World Cup opener on Wednesday. Thomas Letsch got our players up to speed in a session lasting close to two hours as they battled against the heavy rain.

After starting with a few rondos, we did an internal tournament, with the blue team emerging as the winners.

Among those watching the public training session were not only a few Salzburg fans, but also the designer of our Club World Cup kit Colm Dillane, better known as KidSuper.

With the strain of the travel behind them, our boys just completed one session on their first day. The tempo will be raised in the coming days before we travel on Tuesday to Cincinnati, where we are to face CF Pachuca overnight from Wednesday to Thursday (midnight Austrian time).
