Recent reports from Fichajes have revealed that both Manchester City and Liverpool are showing a keen interest in signing Real Madrid’s midfield star Federico Valverde.
The Uruguayan international, who has been a regular fixture in Madrid’s starting lineup for some time, is now attracting significant attention from top clubs in the Premier League.
Despite his consistent performances in the past, Valverde is not having his best season, which has led to growing speculation about his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As suggested by the outlet, both Manchester City and Liverpool see an opportunity to strengthen their midfield by bringing in Valverde.
For City, Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for a versatile, dynamic midfielder who can complement the club’s already star-studded squad. Valverde fits this profile perfectly, offering both defensive solidity and attacking thrust.

On the other hand, Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, views Valverde as a player who could revitalise his midfield.
The Reds are in the midst of a transition, with several key players either leaving or entering the twilight of their careers, and Valverde’s arrival could help inject the necessary energy into the team.
Real Madrid, however, do not appear eager to part ways with Valverde. The club recently extended his contract until 2027, tying him down with a hefty release clause that reflects his importance to the team.
While this makes a transfer less likely, the interest from two of England’s biggest clubs could test Madrid’s resolve, especially if Valverde expresses a desire to seek a new challenge.
The Premier League has become an increasingly attractive destination for world-class talent, and Valverde is no exception. If the midfielder does decide to move, it could lead to a lucrative transfer, potentially sparking a chain reaction of moves in the market.
For now, his future remains certain at Real Madrid and it can be argued that he remains one of the most important players for the team, especially in the light of Luka Modric’s uncertain future.
