Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool are all expected to bolster their attacking options before the start of the new Premier League season. It has already been a busy summer transfer window for the Gunners with four new arrivals which should soon become five with an official announcement for Cristhian Mosquera. They are also said to be closing in on a final agreement with Sporting for prolific striker Viktor Gyokeres, despite talk of a Manchester United hijack, in addition to eyeing a move for Eberechi Eze.
Liverpool are close to wrapping up a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, thus most likely bringing an end to any talk of a move for Newcastle centre-forward Alexander Isak who reportedly had been keen on swapping St James' Park for Anfield.
United are finalising a deal for Bryan Mbeumo after their third offer was accepted by Brentford, and have now turned their focus to Benjamin Sesko. Leaving Old Trafford though is Marcus Rashford, who is set to join Barcelona on loan. Elsewhere, Chelsea are reportedly keen on Xavi Simons and Tottenham remain hopeful of signing Morgan Gibbs-White. Mikel Arteta says Arsenal need to continue adding to their squad this summer, as he dropped a hint over the club’s move for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Arsenal remain in talks with Sporting over a deal for Gyokeres, who is currently on holiday after refusing to return to pre-season training.
Sporting have been playing hardball over the sale of Gyokeres, but there is optimism a deal can be struck as the Portuguese club are in talks to sign Almeria striker Luis Suarez as his replacement.
Arteta refused to comment on a deal for Gyokeres, but did hint that he hopes a move can be sealed eventually.
“You know I cannot comment on any player that is not part of our group yet,” he said.
“When we have something concrete to offer in any case to any player, we will do that.”

Chelsea are interested in Garnacho and were believed to be in pole position to make a move for the 21-year-old.
However, TBR Football claim that Villa are also in the hunt and Garnacho has been exploring the possibility of working under Unai Emery.

Newcastle are stepping up their interest in Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.
The Magpies have missed out on Hugo Ekitike and have now turned to Wissa, though it remains to be seen if the Bees are willing to sell.
Bryan Mbeumo is on the verge of joining Manchester United and Wissa leaving as well would be a significant blow.
L’Equipe report that Newcastle are making progress, though, with the 28-year-old believed to be open to the move.

Manchester United have reportedly re-entered the race for Viktor Gyokeres.
SIC claim that with Arsenal so far failing to wrap up a deal, United have been encouraged and have submitted a bid close to £70m.
While Gyokeres is holding out for a move to Arsenal, Sporting are likely to accept the best offer for them.
However, Arsenal are believed to be relaxed about the situation and still in pole position to complete the transfer.

Alexander Isak’s agent says the player is considering his options as he draws transfer interest from Al Hilal and Liverpool.
The Swede was left out of Newcastle’s squad for a friendly loss to Celtic this weekend, with Eddie Howe confirming he made the decision due to the transfer speculation surrounding him.
Saudi outlet Al-Riyadiyah ran quotes from Gonzalo Gaitan, an agent with Isak’s representatives.
Gaitan said: “We are already studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player.”
He offered no further detail as to Isak’s plans. Newcastle insist he is not for sale, and Howe has said he is ‘desperate’ to keep ahold of him this summer.
