Palmeiras have returned from Londrina, where they beat Jacuipense-BA 4-1 on Wednesday 13, and began preparations on Thursday for Cruzeiro on Saturday at 21:00 at Arena Crefisa Barueri in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

According to Nosso Palestra, the starters from the cup tie worked in the recovery and neuroscience centre, while the remaining players trained on a reduced pitch. The session then focused on build-up play, crossing and finishing.

Arthur, Andreas Pereira and Allan took part in full training after recovering, as did Paulinho, who missed the trip through load management. Allan is suspended and will not face Cruzeiro.

Piquerez continued a pitch-based programme with physiotherapy from the Núcleo de Saúde e Performance. Benedetti, injured against Jacuipense, stayed indoors and will undergo further tests.

Erick Belé, a scorer in the cup win, described the emotion of his first senior goal and said he messaged his family. He felt Palmeiras controlled most of the game and wants to maintain that level. He also highlighted guidance from Felipe Anderson, Mauricio and captain Gómez.

Belé said 2026 has been very positive, he is training with the first team and earning opportunities, and aims to stay focused, echoing Abel Ferreira’s call to work and enjoy. He joined the club in 2018 and has six senior appearances, plus nine games and four goals for the under-20s this season.

Palmeiras lead the Brasileiro with 34 points from 10 wins, four draws and one defeat.
