Donald Trump joked about whether he could replicate Lionel Messi’s free-kick against FC Porto after praising the strike at the Club World Cup.
According to O Jogo, the United States president hosted Inter Miami, the 2025 MLS winners, at the White House on Thursday.

During his remarks, he recalled Messi’s goal against Porto in the Club World Cup group stage in the summer, noting it came from a direct free-kick.
He said Messi had set a milestone for a US club with that effort, referring to it being the first time a North American team had beaten European opposition in an official competition.
Trump then light-heartedly wondered if he could score a similar goal himself with training.
