Match report following second friendly against TSG Hoffenheim

SV Werder fell to another defeat in their second friendly against TSG Hoffenheim, losing 3-0 at the Silberstadt-Arena in Schwaz. Goals from Gift Orban (46'), Wouter Burger (51') and Alexander Prass (85') sealed the win for the Sinsheim side.

First-half highlights:

13th minute: Burger plays in Damar, but his shot is denied by Backhaus, as is Orban's rebound. Prass' third attempt was then headed over the bar on the line by Coulibaly.

20th minute: Werder's turn to go close! Salifou drives into the box and lays it off for Topp, who hast wo attempts saved in quick succession by TSG shot-stopper Philipp.

30th minute: Orban finds himself in space and curls a shot on target that goes crashing off the post.

38th minute: Werder are able to initiate a counter-attack starting from within their own box. Opitz sprints down the left wing and cuts the ball back to Topp at the right moment. The striker is once again denied by Philipp.

Second-half highlights:

46th minute: TSG strike just seconds after the restart, as Orban heads in a cross from Drexler.

51st minute: A second for TSG. Orban tries to barge his way through the defence, but the ball then falls to Burger's feet. The Dutchman slots home into the corner of the goal.

61st minute: Another good chance for Topp, but he's denied once again by Philipp in a one-on-one.

85th minute: 3-0 for TSG. Prass is able to round Backhaus and pass the ball into an empty net.

90th minute +1: Hoffenheim are awarded a late penalty following a handball inside the box. Damar looks to chip it into the back of the net, but his effort sails over the bar.

Full time: Werder fall to a 3-0 defeat in their second friendly of the day against TSG Hoffenheim. The team will be back in action next Saturday (9th August, 15:30 CEST) against Udinese.

Summary: TSG Hoffenheim saw more of the ball in the first half, while SV Werder also managed to create some good chances for themselves. Two quick goals for TSG ultimately put them on the path to victory.
