Manchester City are reportedly monitoring the rise and development of one of the Turkish Super Lig’s highest-rated goalkeepers.

The Premier League champions are consistently linked with some of the finest emerging talents from across the global game, with the last few seasons seeing Manchester City win the race for a number of hugely-rated talents.

Last January was a primary example of such a belief, with Manchester City transfer bosses having won the race for River Plate and Argentina youth international Claudio Echeverri penning a long-term deal with the club.

The teenager follows the path taken by Julian Alvarez, who made the exact same move from the Argentine giants to the Premier League, winning every single trophy available to him bar the League Cup in a two-year period, before going on to Atletico Madrid last summer.

Now, Manchester City’s hunt for emerging names in the game has led them to the goalkeeping market, where they are challenged by some familiar suitors from within the Premier League for a teenager who is impressing in Turkey.

That is according to the information of journalist Salim Manaz, who reports that 16-year-old shot-stopper Deniz Dönmezer of Adana Demirspor has been followed by scouts at City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham, as well as Juventus over in Italy.

The teenager has been in-demand for several months too, and it is not the first time that interest from the English game has emerged, with the report highlighting that Hull City have had the player on their agenda, alongside Fenerbahçe.

Manchester City’s goalkeeping ranks have been at the centre of news stories for several months, with Stefan Ortega Moreno and Ederson linked with various directions in their respective club futures.

From the side of the German goalkeeper, who recently broke into the national team for the first time in his career at 30 years of age, there were doubts prior to him signing a contract extension with City over his satisfaction at playing the role of back-up.

There was a brief belief that such a role could change last summer, with Ederson linked with huge transfer interest from Saudi Arabia, with clubs in the Middle-East ultimately rejecting the valuation placed on the Brazil international by Manchester City.

Should City look to intensify their admiration for Dönmezer any time soon, then the likeliest route for him at the City Football Academy is to take a place within the club’s younger age groups before possibly competing for a place in first-team routines.
