Tuva Hansen is leaving FC Bayern Women for English top-tier side West Ham United after three successful years. The Norway international joined Munich from SK Brann in December 2022. The 28-year-old won three German championship titles, the DFB Cup and two Supercup titles during her spell at Bayern.
Tuva Hansen thanked the club and the fans: “The past three years have flown by so quickly, and it's incredible what I've been able to experience during this time. I've made lifelong friends, I've gotten to know and love a new country and a new city. We've celebrated great successes together and emerged stronger from setbacks. There have been tears of joy and tears of disappointment. But above all, there is an incredible gratitude for three wonderful years full of emotions, victories, support, friendship, and love. Thank you to FC Bayern and everyone at this club for this amazing time, thank you to the best fans for your incredible support, and above all, thank you to my team – I will always carry you in my heart.”
FC Bayern Women sporting director Bianca Rech thanked Hansen on behalf of FC Bayern: “Tuva was a reliable force on the pitch and played a big part in our successes in recent years. She enriched the team with her positive charisma, authenticity and strong character. She always created a great atmosphere within the team. In difficult and injury-plagued phases in particular, she showed her leadership thanks to her flexibility on the pitch. We’re very grateful to her for her tireless efforts in the FC Bayern Women jersey, and we wish her all the best for her next step in England.”
Born on 4 August 1997 in Bryne, Norway, Tuva Hansen quickly became an integral member of FC Bayern Women after her transfer. The defender made 77 appearances for the double winners. Before joining FCB, Hansen played for Bryne FK, Klepp IL, Arna-Bjørnar, IL Sandviken and SK Brann in Norway. She won two Norwegian championship titles and the 2022 cup.
The 28-year-old made her debut for Norway against Spain in the Algarve Cup on 3 March 2017. She has been a regular member of her team since then, participating in Euro 2022, the 2023 World Cup and Euro 2025.
