The 2025-26 season is in its very last stages, but even in this part of the campaign, FC Barcelona had to contend with some costly injuries. Among other players, they were also left without two of their most important attacking stars for some recent games, i.e., Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
There is some positive news on that front, however, as a few injured players are now close to returning. In Friday’s training session ahead of the game against Osasuna in Pamplona, Raphinha, Marc Bernal, and Andreas Christensen all trained with the group once again.
According to Mundo Deportivo, both Raphinha and Bernal are expected to receive medical clearance in time for the trip, which would make them available for tonight’s match. Their return would be a timely boost for Hansi Flick, especially with El Clasico coming up on May 10. Getting some minutes in this game could help them regain rhythm before that crucial fixture.
Christensen, meanwhile, is not expected to be ready just yet. The Danish defender has been out for a longer period and will likely need at least another week before receiving the green light from the medical staff.
There was also a small change off the pitch. Unlike in recent weeks, president-elect Joan Laporta did not attend the training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. He is set to travel to Pamplona with the squad after being invited by Osasuna’s board, alongside acting president Rafa Yuste.
At the same time, the league situation gives Barcelona a clear chance to wrap things up soon. They currently hold an 11-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid with five matches left to play. If Barcelona win their game against Osasuna and Real Madrid drop points this matchday, the Catalan side will be mathematically crowned La Liga champions.
If both teams win their respective matches, then the upcoming El Clasico will offer Barcelona another opportunity to seal the title. In that scenario, a win or even a draw against Real Madrid would be enough to secure La Liga with three games still remaining in the season.
