Two into Carioca semi-finals as Flamengo and Botafogo play for place today

The Carioca quarter-finals began on Friday 13 February and run through the weekend. Coluna Do Fla reports on the state of play. Two teams are already through, and Flamengo face Botafogo today for another semi-final berth.

Madureira beat Boavista 2-1 to qualify. Vasco drew 1-1 with Volta Redonda, then won 5-3 on penalties to advance.

Madureira await the winner of Botafogo v Flamengo. That quarter-final is at Estádio Nilton Santos on Sunday 15 February, kick-off 17h30, Brasília time.

Vasco will meet whoever prevails between Fluminense and Bangu. That tie is on Monday 16 February at the Maracanã, starting at 18h30, Brasília time.

Free-to-air broadcaster Rede Globo will show Botafogo v Flamengo, with Premiere carrying the match on pay-per-view.
