Two more years: Corinthians confirm new deal for Venezuelan midfielder

Late on Saturday night (20th), Corinthians used its social media to officially announce the contract renewal of midfielder Dayana Rodríguez until December 2028. Previously, her contract was set to expire at the end of the next season, and thus, it has been extended for two more years.

The midfielder joined Corinthians at the beginning of 2025 after an outstanding performance at Grêmio. The number 31 jersey quickly adapted and became a key player for coach Lucas Piccinato's team. So far, she has played 40 matches with the Brabas (29 as a starter), scoring three goals and providing three assists.

In total, there are 27 wins, 10 draws, and three losses, along with two titles won: Brasileirão (2025) and Conmebol Libertadores (2025). In recent days, the Alvinegro also extended the contracts of goalkeepers Lelê and Nicole, full-backs Tamires and Gi Fernandes, and defender Erika.

On the other hand, there are already confirmed departures: goalkeeper Kemelli and defender Mariza. According to Meu Timão, the former is expected to transfer to Fluminense. The young defender, meanwhile, may play in Mexican football starting in 2026. Right-back Letícia Santos and forward Eudmilla are also expected to leave the club and have been linked with Santos FC. Gabi Zanotti remains in talks for a contract extension.

It's worth noting that at the end of January 2026, the Brabas will return to the field to face Gotham FC from the United States in the semifinals of the Copa das Campeãs – Women's Club World Cup, in London, England. Additionally, they will also compete in: Supercopa Feminina, Paulistão, Campeonato Brasileiro, Conmebol Libertadores, and Copa do Brasil.
