David Moyes has picked his Everton lineup to take on Liverpool in a Merseyside derby clash at Anfield in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Toffees have seen an upturn in form since an opening day defeat against Leeds United, winning three and drawing one of their subsequent four games across all competitions.

Everton did draw a blank against Aston Villa last weekend though, which led one former top flight star to state that how well or not they do this season will largely depend on the pair of Jack Grealish and Illiman Ndiaye.

Liverpool have shown they can be vulnerable in defence, but Everton will need Grealish and Ndiaye to unlock the door and create clear opportunities.

All eyes will be on who Moyes picks in his lineup, with the Everton boss explaining that injured pair Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko have been making progress, but otherwise keeping his cards close to his chest.

Everton were edged out 1-0 by Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League last season, while their last win on the red half of Merseyside came in 2021.

Between the sticks for Everton this afternoon is Jordan Pickford, while at the back Moyes goes with a four of Jake O’Brien, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and the fit again Vitaliy Mykolenko.

Midfield sees Everton deploy Idrissa Gueye and James Garner, while Iliman Ndiaye, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish will look to create for Beto.

If Moyes needs to try to influence the way the game is going through his changes from the bench then he has a host of options to turn to and they include Tyler Dibling and Thierno Barry.
