Southampton prodigy Amo-Ameyaw is tipped to join Championship side Cardiff on loan. In case it happens, a game-time stricken Ameyaw and relegation-prone Cardiff could be a perfect match for each other.

English football has witnessed many scout-stunner transfers. Interestingly, Southampton legend Alan Shearer has been one as he saw a Blackburn move after delivering a masterclass against them.

But, while that was way back in 1992, the Saints can replicate something on similar lines now.

Arguably, one of the limited positives from Southampton's current campaign has been the emergence of a few prodigy stars. But while some like Tyler Dibling have been trusted many a time, others like Sam Amo-Ameyaw still wait for key opportunities.

At this stage, Amo-Ameyaw himself is aware that only a successful loan could push him up the Southampton ranks. Here, comes the opportunity when the Saints can parallel icon Shearer's tale with Amo-Ameyaw.

Remember, back in August, Amo-Ameyaw's heroic performance against Cardiff City in the EFL Cup. With an important goal, Ameyaw had laid the foundation for the Saints' 5-3 win.

Though a linkup between Ameyaw and Cardiff seemed intriguing after the result, a move can be on the cards now.

Recently, speaking to Football League World, Cardiff fan pundit Jack Price, showed interest in Amo-Ameyaw saying: "Sam Amo-Ameyaw at Southampton is available. He played a blinder against us in the EFL Cup."

While the stinginess of EFL loss is still imminent from Jack's words, his idea of an Amo-Ameyaw move, in particular a loan deal, might be ideal for all.

For a relegation-troubled Cardiff City, Amo-Ameyaw's move might come as a miracle cure. Further, it guarantees the 18-year-old ample game minutes, apart from valuable Championship football experience.

Moreover, in case, the worst happens, and Southampton is relegated, Ameyaw's return could help them mount a comeback soon.

Seeing these many positives, the Saints shouldn't think twice about Amo-Ameyaw's Cardiff loan. But, a quick call is required, with less than 7 days remaining in the transfer window now.
