The French U17 team's World Cup journey came to a sudden end in Doha. Up against Brazil in the round of 16, Les Bleuets were knocked out after a heartbreaking penalty shootout (1-1, 4-3 on penalties), bringing their World Cup ambitions to a close.

Despite largely dominating the match and taking the lead in the first half, France couldn't hold on to their advantage, conceding a Brazilian equalizer in the dying moments. The outcome was sealed in the penalty shootout, where the Tricolores lacked precision at the most crucial time.

This elimination is a huge disappointment for a generation that had hoped to at least reach the semifinals, just days after a dramatic qualification against Colombia. Beaten at the death, Les Bleuets exit the tournament earlier than expected, while Brazil moves on to face the winner of the Morocco–Mali showdown.

A bitter end for Lionel Rouxel's squad, who will now have to learn from this setback as they prepare for the next chapter in the journey of this promising group.
