U23 Signs Takato Yamamoto on Loan

The 1.77-meter-tall Japanese player already has some professional experience under his belt: In the J1 100 Year Vision League, he made his first-team debut for Gamba Osaka.

Paul Schaffran, head of the youth academy, says: “Takato is a player who impressed us right from the start. He brings exactly the qualities we want to see in our style of play. We’re confident that he’ll take the next step in his development with us.”

Yamamoto explains: “I still can hardly believe it. Borussia Dortmund – such a great club. It is the first time I have left Japan, everything here is new to me. But I am ready. I want to learn every day and get better. And I will give everything to repay this trust.”
