Under-17 starter trains with Corinthians first team for the first time

On the morning of this Tuesday, October 14, the defender Cauã Ribeiro, who is a starter for the Corinthians Under-17 team, participated in his first training session with the club's professional squad. The presence of young players from the Alvinegro's youth categories in the main team's activities has become frequent under coach Dorival Júnior.

On the morning of last Monday (13), for example, the following players participated in activities with the professional team: goalkeeper Matheus Corrêa (2006), midfielder Thomas Lisboa (2005), and midfielder Gui Amorim (2007). The first two are part of the Under-20 category, and the last one is a standout in the Under-17.

At 17 years old – born in 2008 – Cauã Ribeiro became a starter for the Corinthians Under-17 in 2024, at 16 years old. However, his progress was interrupted after being diagnosed with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. This season, he returned to play and signed a professional contract with the club until February 2028.

In total, he has played 23 matches wearing the Corinthians jersey in the Under-17, achieving 14 wins, five draws, and four losses – a 68% success rate. Out of these, 11 were in 2025 – six as a starter. Since Dorival Júnior's arrival at Corinthians in late April, the following players have been promoted: right-back João Vitor ‘Jacaré’, midfielders André Luiz and Luiz Gustavo Bahia, midfielder Dieguinho, and forward Gui Negão.
