Under-17s beat Red Bull Bragantino in the Campeonato Brasileiro

São Paulo’s U-17 team defeated Red Bull Bragantino 3-0 this Wednesday at Bruno José Daniel, in Santo André (SP), in the seventh round of the Brazilian Championship in the category. São Paulo’s goals were scored by Miranda, Brenno and Kauã Daniel.

With the result, Tricolor claimed its first win in the competition and moved up to eight points.

The first half was marked by Tricolor’s clear dominance in attacking play. In the 16th minute, number 10 Robert tried a long-range shot from the attacking midfield area and forced the opposing goalkeeper into a good save, tipping the ball out for a corner. From the set piece, Davi Pena delivered a perfect cross for Miranda, who rose above the defense and opened the scoring with a header. São Paulo kept pressing and extended the lead in the 27th minute. From another assist by Davi Pena, this time from a free kick, the number 7 found center forward Brenno, who powered in a header to score the second goal. In the 34th minute, Zabarelli won the ball back in the attacking half, drove to the edge of the box and finished dangerously, but the opposing goalkeeper made the save and prevented the third goal.

In the second half, Tricolor remained in control and got its third goal in the 19th minute. After recovering possession in the attacking half, the team found Robert, who again tried his luck from long distance. The goalkeeper once more tipped it out for a corner and, from the set piece, Davi Pena sent the ball into the box. Aguilar flicked it on with a header, and Kauã Daniel appeared to finish, also with a header, and score the team’s third goal. Tricolor’s pressure continued. In the 27th minute, João Bispo received the ball on the right wing and struck a powerful shot, but the goalkeeper saved it and sent it out for another corner.

The team returns to the field next Tuesday (14), when it will face Vitória at 3 p.m. at CT Manoel Barradas, in Salvador (BA), in the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship.
