The young Magpies took the lead inside seven minutes at United's Little Benton Academy courtesy of Garang Kuol's strike but found themselves back on level terms shortly after the half-hour mark.

The Tigers did have the ball in the back of the net on two further occasions but their goals were both ruled out for offside as Newcastle's youngsters continued their preparations for their upcoming Premier League 2 campaign with a draw on Tyneside.

United's second-string are back in pre-season action on Sunday, 3rd August when facing National League North side South Shields at the 1st Cloud Arena (kick-off 3pm BST).
