According to a report from Foot Mercato, Union Berlin have entered discussions to sign AJ Auxerre centre-back Sinaly Diomandé (24).
The Ivorian international enjoyed a strong 2023/24 season with AJA in Ligue 1, making 23 appearances and scoring three goals, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Christophe Pélissier’s side. Despite being under contract at the Stade Abbé-Deschamps until June 2027, Diomandé’s form has earned him admirers abroad, with the Bundesliga outfit pushing to bring him to Germany.
Auxerre are hoping to command a fee in the region of €4m–€5m for the former Lyon defender. Should a deal be agreed, OL will stand to benefit significantly — having allowed Diomandé to leave on a free transfer last summer, the club negotiated a 50% sell-on clause, meaning half of any future fee will return to the Groupama Stadium.GFFN | George Boxall
