Unión have taken a formal step in the market, sending the required telegram to Sportivo Las Parejas to exercise their option to buy 80% of striker Diego Armando Díaz.

According to Radiogol.com, the bid lodged is below the figure set in the agreement, and both sides are weighing different mechanisms to try to reach a deal.

The option is around $150,000, payable soon.

Unión moved before 15 December, the deadline written into the original loan to trigger the clause.

Talks will now centre on narrowing the gap between the option value and Unión’s offer, with alternative structures being explored to finalise terms.
