Inter Milan will be the first team in Serie A history to play a league match on a Sunday before a European semifinal.
This is highlighted by Italian outlet FCInter1908, after the confirmation of the postponement of the clash with the Giallorossi.
Inter Milan will face Roma on Sunday instead of Saturday this weekend.
The postponement of the Serie A clash is due to the funeral of Pope Francis.
There were hectic behind-the-scenes talks yesterday regarding possibly keeping the match on Saturday.
That would be to enable Inter to have an extra day to prepare for their Champions League semifinal first leg against Barcelona.
However, in the end the Nerazzurri decided to accept the postponement to Sunday.

Playing on a Sunday is admittedly not ideal for Inter Milan in view of their Champions League tie against Barcelona.
However, the circumstances have really restricted the Nerazzurri’s option.
And as FCIN1908, this is the first time that a team in Serie A has been in this situation.
The league always takes steps to ensure that teams in European have ample time to prepare for knockout matches. Particularly ones as far as the semifinals.
However, this time around, Inter will have to bite the bullet and play on Sunday.
