Pascal Struijk missed Chelsea with a flexor problem and Daniel Farke indicated the turnaround was too quick for him to feature, so he may not be risked. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was absent through illness and could also be given longer to recover.

Midfielder Anton Stach has sat out the last two matches with a hip issue. The problem is not thought to be long term, but the cup tie may arrive slightly too soon.

Birmingham suffered a setback when Paik Seung-Ho aggravated a shoulder problem against West Brom. Chris Davies described it as the same shoulder and a concern given the player's importance and the pain involved.

Defender Jack Robinson remains sidelined by a hamstring injury sustained in the previous FA Cup round, with a return not expected until at least the end of the month.

Left-back Alex Cochrane is out with an ankle injury since New Year's Day, and Ethan Laird has been missing since September with a hamstring tear. Lee Buchanan has been out for over a year with a knee injury and is building fitness.
