USA goes perfect in Group Stage, Canada advances to Knockout Round at FIFA U-17 World Cup

DOHA, Qatar – The FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 continued with Concacaf nations Canada, Panama and USA concluding its Group Stage encounters on Tuesday at Aspire Zone in Doha, Qatar.
The United States and Canada secured top two finishes in their respective groups to secure a Round of 32 participation. Panama exits the tournament after a third consecutive defeat.
Canada 1, Chile 2
Canada fell 2-1 to Chile in Group K at Aspire Zone - Pitch 8 in Doha, Qatar.
Shola Jimoh opened the scoring in the 32’ to place Canada in the lead.
Chile came back to take the victory with goals from Zidane Yanez in the 55’, and Matias Orellana in the 66’. The South Americans were down a player when Yanez was red carded in the 84’.
The Canucks concluded the opening round with a 1-1-1 record and second place in its group.
Uzbekistan 6, Panama 1
Panama fell 6-1 against Uzbekistan in Group J at Aspire Zone - Pitch 1 in Doha, Qatar.
Uzbekistan took the victory behind goals from Abubakir Shukurullaev (48’), Sadriddin Khasanov (53’), Sayfiddin Sodikov (68’), Jamshidbek Rustamov (90’+1’), Asilbek Aliev (90’+4’), and Abdusamad Saidov (90’+7’).
Joseph Pacheco scored the lone goal for the Panamanians in the 90’+10’, as Panama exits the tournament with a 0-0-3 record.
Czechia 0, USA 1
USA won 1-nil against Czechia in Group I at Aspire Zone - Pitch 4 in Doha, Qatar.
Mathis Albert scored the lone goal of the encounter in the 78’ for what would be the match-winning goal.
Mateo Tsakiris received a red card in the 90’+2’ and will miss the next match for the United States.
The Stars and Stripes finished first in its group with a perfect 3-0-0 record.
