Valencia act in January window as Corberán lands Sadiq, Unai Núñez and Guido Rodríguez | OneFootball

Valencia’s January was shaped by need, with the team in LaLiga EA Sports’ relegation places. According to Superdeporte, the club moved to correct errors as the window closes on Monday two February.

Under Carlos Corberán, three additions defined the window. Umar Sadiq arrived permanently from Real Sociedad, Unai Núñez came on loan with an option to buy, and Guido Rodríguez joined from West Ham on a deal that could be extended.

Valencia tried in the summer but the Nigerian remained some months at Real Sociedad. He signed on eight January, bringing presence and unpredictable threat.

Núñez was recruited to stiffen a back line hit by Mouctar Diakhaby’s serious injury, ruling the centre-back out for the rest of the season. His experience addresses an urgent need.

Exits were quieter, talks around Baptiste Santamaría and Dani Raba did not advance, and both trained on Monday. Raba was omitted against Betis at La Cartuja, and only a very attractive late offer, unlikely now, could alter plans. Santamaría has twenty appearances, ten starts, Raba fourteen, six.

Looking ahead, Aliou Dieng is on course to join in the summer on a free if nothing changes. Justin de Haas has agreed terms, and if Famalicão do not relent and there are no further departures, the move would be completed from 1 July. Right-back remains unaddressed, and Mestalla will judge if this is enough to turn the season.
