Valencia have been scouring the market for a right-back and sounded out Iván Fresneda, though a loan has not advanced.
Record reports that the club explored borrowing the 21-year-old Spanish right-back from Sporting de Portugal. Fresneda, formerly of Real Valladolid, is under contract in Lisbon until 30 June 2028.
His intention is to renew and play the 26/27 season with Sporting in the Champions League, with the aim of earning a Spain call-up.
Valencia remain active on the position. Thomas Meunier is the preferred option, with the club trying to sign the Belgian international, who is out of contract on 30 June.
Meunier is open to joining Mestalla, but there is no agreement yet.
Another target is Andrés García. Valencia have contacted the player, but have not made a formal offer to Aston Villa.
