Valencia move away from Guido as Aliou Dieng option remains open | OneFootball

Valencia have stepped up their search for a holding midfielder as the window enters its final stretch, with West Ham’s Guido Rodríguez and Al Ahly’s Aliou Dieng among the options. According to Superdeporte, both are leading candidates, though others remain in play.

The move for Guido is drifting away. The serious differences highlighted on Tuesday have edged towards being almost insurmountable. Right now, signing the former Betis midfielder is very difficult.

Unless there is a radical shift in negotiations, the player is likely to slip from Valencia’s grasp. Guido had appealed because of his experience in La Liga.

Valencia, meanwhile, are keeping the Aliou Dieng avenue open. Despite reports from Egypt, talks over the Al Ahly midfielder remain ongoing and the deal has not collapsed.

Dieng’s contract expires in June and, for now, he is the best placed option to strengthen the midfield.
