Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga outfit Valencia were forced to sit out group training on Wednesday morning.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Umar Sadiq and Enzo Barrenechea as the pair in question.
In the case of the former, maximum caution is being taken, with Sadiq struggling with a niggling knee issue.
No risks were taken with the winter arrival at Mestalla earlier today, with Sadiq having continued to undergo treatment under the watch of Valencia’s medical services ahead of Sunday’s La Liga showdown with Barcelona.
Midfielder Barrenechea, meanwhile, was also advised against playing his part alongside the rest of Carlos Corberán’s squad.
This comes with the Aston Villa talent having suffered a nasty wound on his foot during Los Che’s weekend victory over Real Sociedad, which required stitches.
The status of both players to face Barcelona this weekend is as of this moment unclear, though Barrenechea is seen as the more likely to play some part.
