Valencia begin pre-season on Thursday with medicals and fitness tests, before training starts on Monday 6 July in Paterna. Head coach Carlos Corberán hopes to have fresh faces in by then.

According to Superdeporte, the club confirmed on Wednesday its first signing, Dutch centre-back Justin de Haas, and is awaiting the official arrival of Mali midfielder Aliou Dieng. It also hopes to confirm the signing of Japanese forward Ryunosuke Sato from Tokyo, which has said he will say goodbye and is being transferred without naming Valencia, and to settle a new deal for Argentine Guido Rodríguez.

Eight departures are already confirmed. Four are permanent, Thierry Rendall, Renzo Saravia, Eray Cömert and Guido Rodríguez, and four are loan returns, Julen Agirrezabala, Unai Núñez, Largie Ramazani and Lucas Beltrán.

Corberán currently has around 15 senior players for the LaLiga kick-off, including de Haas and Aliou Dieng. Repeated loan churn has left gaps each June, while Fair Play limits and blocked squad spots complicate business. Work remains across goalkeeper, defence, midfield and attack.

From last season’s group, the available names include goalkeepers Dimitrievski and Rivero, defenders Tárrega, de Haas, Gayà and Jesús Vázquez, midfielders Pepelu, Javi Guerra, Ugrinic, Almeida, Danjuma and Rioja, and forwards Hugo Duro and Umar Sadiq. Injured are Diakhaby, Copete, Foulquier and Diego López. Not in the plans are Raba and Santamaría.

Internationals Stole Dimitrievski of North Macedonia and Javi Guerra of Spain will have extra days off, so unless a keeper arrives quickly, Cristian Rivero will be the only first-team goalkeeper at the very start.

Valencia will play six friendlies split between Paterna, the Royalverd Training Center in Girona and St. George's Park in England. The opposition are Petro de Luanda, Eldense, Castellón, Derby Country, Stoke City and Newcastle.
