Former player Vander Iacovino has left his role as Corinthians futsal manager after nearly a year, announcing his departure on social media.

According to Meu Timao, the exit forms part of cost cutting in the club’s social departments, a move designed to trim the wage bill.

In his message, he thanked Corinthians, described a brief spell with many achievements, said he will cherish colleagues and added that they can always count on him.

During his tenure, Corinthians finished runners-up in three competitions, the Supercopa Gramado de Futsal, the Campeonato Paulista and the Liga Nacional de Futsal. They also won the Taça São Paulo and the Torneo Mucho Más in Spain in 2025.

Since 2024, Iacovino has focused on sports management, serving as executive director of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futsal of the CBFS (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol de Salão), which held its inaugural edition that year. He worked alongside Bruno Vanço, the futsal supervisor, in club administration.

Corinthians are reshaping their futsal for 2026 and lost key players last season, including Marlon, Luisinho and club icon Deives, who retired. Next season they will play the Supercopa Gramado, the Paulista and the 2026 LNF, and they are trying to host the Copa Libertadores but face strong competition from Carlos Barbosa.
