Vasco have agreed to loan 21-year-old forward GB to Fortaleza, taking their 2026 departures to 16. According to PaponaColina, the deal runs until the end of the Série B campaign.
The move was approved by head coach Fernando Diniz and fits a drive to trim the wage bill and give minutes to players outside his plans. GB’s agent, Carlos Leite, travelled to Fortaleza to complete formalities.
Competition up front has intensified after the arrivals of Claudio Spinelli and Marino Hinestroza and the emergence of Brenner, leaving the academy product short of opportunities. He featured in five Campeonato Carioca games this year without a goal or assist.
GB’s Vasco spell has swung between highs and setbacks. In 2025 he scored a decisive winner against Vitória at São Januário, a key result in the fight against relegation.
At the start of last year a €3 million move to Fenerbahçe in Türkiye collapsed after he failed a medical because of a partial knee ligament issue linked to a previous Under-20 injury. At Fortaleza, a club with which Vasco maintain good relations following the recent sale of full-back Paulinho, he will seek regular football.
