According to PaponaColina, Vasco attempted to sign Ecuadorian forward John Yeboah, but talks were halted after he declined a move to Brazilian football.

The club had been scouring the international market for quick wide players for the second half of the campaign. Firm enquiries were made with the player’s camp, however his insistence on staying in Europe ended contact. Football director Admar Lopes has already opened parallel discussions for alternatives.

Wingers are a priority for head coach Pedro Emanuel. The board has redirected the R$ 100 million annual budget guaranteed by Marcos Lamacchia towards other targets, aiming to complete up to five arrivals.

Vasco are also working through financial details in Argentina. The department’s main focus is paying an initial US$ 8 million to finalise the purchase of midfielder Santiago Sosa from Racing, while tracking Franco Ibarra of Rosario Central after definitively dropping Nelson Deossa.

New recruits are expected to fit a loan with option to buy structure, considered vital while legal steps in the 777 Partners transition slow procedures. The coaching staff want a pacey winger in time for decisive fixtures in the Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil and the Copa Sul-Americana.
