Vasco have adopted a hard line on their next master sponsor, using improved finances to raise expectations. The front of the shirt has been vacant since December 2025, when the Betfair contract ended.
According to PaponaColina, the club have already rejected two recent bids because the values were close to the previous agreement. The board judged that the old numbers no longer meet the institution’s economic goals for 2026.
The stance is underpinned by the sale of forward Rayan to Bournemouth for about 35 million euros. The transfer injected roughly R$ 151 million, equivalent to 25 million euros net at today’s rate, into São Januário’s coffers.
With cash flow eased, the club began the first half of 2026 calm about meeting salary and operational commitments. That removed pressure to accept a cut-price sponsorship.
With president Pedrinho stabilising the most urgent accounts, the focus has shifted to finding a long-term strategic partner. The club aim to diversify beyond the betting sector, prioritising traditional companies with solid corporate stability in Brazil.
After a previous deal worth R$ 40 million a year, the marketing team now target terms 50% higher. The objective is a contract at R$ 60 million per season for the prime shirt position.
