Vasco held Fluminense to a draw, with Léo Jardim the standout performer as Ramon Rique and Cuiabano endured grim outings.

According to Globo.com, Jardim was slow off his line early as Canobbio threatened, then redeemed himself with at least two strong saves to keep Fluminense from scoring.

Paulo Henrique largely sat in, yet created danger when he advanced, crossing for Tchê Tchê and finding Andrés Gómez. Carlos Cuesta was steady, but Robert Renan stepped out and was outmuscled by John Kennedy, gifting chances.

On the left, Cuiabano left space for Canobbio and crossed poorly. Jair was Vasco’s calmest presence before the interval and was withdrawn later as he builds fitness after a serious right knee injury.

Barros won balls but rushed passes. Tchê Tchê organised from deep and headed a decent chance wide. Rique struggled badly and was taken off at half-time.

Rojas and Adson could not link play, and Rojas wasted a late free-kick. Up front, surprise starter David linked some moves with his back to goal but was sloppy on the deck, so the search for a number nine continues.

Spinelli toiled without service and was booked. Andrés Gómez worked hard but lost most duels to Ignácio before the break. Puma Rodríguez arrived late and was not rated. Head coach Pedro Emanuel’s call to start Rique did not pay off, and limited options meant the changes had little impact.
