Vasco ‘to seek’ loan for Luciano Rodríguez as Neom SC forward weighs Brazil move | OneFootball

Vasco are seeking a loan deal for Luciano Rodríguez of Saudi club Neom SC, as they move to reinforce their attack after progressing deals for Nelson Deossa and Santiago Sosa.

ESPN reports that the 23-year-old, who played for Bahia last year, has been tracked by Vasco since 2024 and is open to a return to Brazilian football.

The Rio side face competition from interested clubs in Türkiye, and the centre-forward role is a priority in this window.

Rodríguez was on Vasco’s shortlist in 2024 while at Liverpool of Uruguay, but lengthy talks did not lead to an agreement. He later joined Bahia, enjoyed a strong campaign, and was sold a year on for about 22 million euros, R$ 139.3 million.

Vasco are also evaluating other attacking profiles, from penalty-box specialists to link players with pace. There are no advanced negotiations for the attack at present.
