Fanático Vascaíno reports that Vasco are to trigger a clause with Zenit of Russia to extend Robert Renan’s loan until the end of 2026.

The defender’s current agreement runs only to 30 June, and the club have already contacted Zenit about the extension.

The contract includes a purchase option set at €8 million, R$ 46.7 million at current rates, which Vasco must activate by November to make the deal permanent.

The board view a longer loan favourably, as it provides more time to manage cash flow.

Vasco also have Carlos Cuesta, Johan Rojas and Cuiabano on loan until the end of the year, all with options to buy.

Separately, Matheus França’s deal runs to the end of June. He will not remain at São Januário after the World Cup pause, and will return to Crystal Palace in England.
