Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart are looking to improve its striker options heading into the new year.
Following an injury to Ermedin Demirovic, Stuttgart only has one fit striker in Deniz Undav, who has found his form since returning from injury, but they still want to bring another striker to Mercedestraße.
One target is St.Etienne’s Belgian striker Lucas Stassin. The 20-year-old has four goals and three assists as Les Verts look to regain promotion back to Ligue 1. VfB have even held talks with Stassin over a move to the Bundesliga, but St.Etienne are demanding €40m for the striker.
The fee is way too much for Stuttgart, and they have begun to look for alternatives.
Newcastle striker William Osula is said to be a target, but faces competition from fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, while the Dane also prefers a move to Deutsche Bank Park.
While AZ Alkmaar and the hero of Ireland’s World Cup playoff qualification, Troy Parrott, are also of interest. The 23-year-old has found his form in Alkmaar and has 14 goals in 16 games this season.
Parrott rejected a move to Wolfsburg in the summer after the Autostadt side made an offer of €18m. Considering Stuttgart is a much better team, both on and off the pitch, and can also offer European football, a move to the Neckarstadion could be much more appealing.
