Chelsea lead at the King Power stadium!
It was chaos at the back for Leicester, but Nicolas Jackson had to be sharp and engaged to take advantage – and he certainly did. It all came from a pretty harmless clearance by Wesley Fofana for Chelsea. Jackson harried Wout Faes as he tried to clear the clearance, and the Senegal star ended up finding some space to put a nice finish past Hermansen after Enzo Fernandez flicked it on to him.
It’s not the prettiest goal Jackson has scored this season, but in some ways it’s one of the most impressive, and it really sums up his qualities well. He never lets the ball go dead, never gives Faes a chance to clear it properly, and he gets his rewards.
As some have commented – there are shades of Didier Drogba in this one.

It’s a perfect time and situation for Chelsea to score. This was potentially a tricky game given the timing and the changes forced on Enzo Maresca in this game.
Now the Blues are really in command against a struggling Foxes team, and they can run down the clock while looking to attack on the counter. Hopefully we can be tucked up back in London with 3 points by early evening, while our top 4 rivals try to match us.
Still, there’s a lot of game left to play, and we can’t start thinking about Aston Villa next weekend just yet. We’ve got to score at least one more goal here, keep the crowd quiet, and make it 90 minutes without any new injuries.
