Video: Zielinski scores goal of the season contender in Verona vs. Inter | OneFootball

Inter midfielder Piotr Zielinski hit an early contender for goal of the season with a wonderful volley to open the scoring in his side’s Serie A match away against Hellas Verona on Sunday afternoon.

Zieilnski sent Inter into the lead against Verona after 16 minutes at the Bentegodi.

Just as impressive as the strike itself was the corner delivery from Hakan Calhanoglu, who swerved a low, outswinging cross perfectly onto the foot of his teammate on the edge of the area.

Zielinski, from 20 yards out, perfectly caught a first-time, full volley with his side foot and dispatched it right into the roof of the net.

It was the Poland international’s first goal since a brace in the 4-4 with Juventus in October 2024.

Angelo Palombo has been credited with drawing up Inter’s brilliant set-piece routine.
