Aston Villa duo Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins both scored in England's 3-0 friendly win over Wales last night at Wembley - in what was only the third time this century that two Villans have featured on the scoresheet in the same Three Lions fixture.
Thomas Tuchel's side blew Craig Bellamy's visitors away with three goals in the opening 20 minutes to effectively kill the contest. Rogers and Watkins both pounced from close range before Arsenal's Bukayo Saka rifled in a lovely left-footed strike to put the game beyond the Dragons.
Rogers' goal was his first at international level, while Watkins now has six goals for his country.
The last time two Villa players had scored for England in the same game was also in another 3-0 win against the Ivory Coast in 2022, when Watkins and Tyrone Mings were both on target.
Prior to that, you have to go all the way back to 2011 and a 2-1 away win over Denmark for two Villans to notch in the same Three Lions game: Darren Bent and Ashley Young the two scorers that day.
Villa boss Unai Emery is no doubt delighted that his players are making a splash on the international stage... and with Ezra Konsa in the current England squad, it's impossible to rule out a 'hat-trick' of goals from Villa players ahead of England's World Cup qualifier in Latvia this coming Tuesday.
