Luis Díaz scored his seventh Bundesliga goal of the season as Bayern Munich secured a 3-1 comeback win against St. Pauli to extend their lead at the top.
The Colombian returned to the starting lineup after being suspended for Bayern’s 3-1 loss against Arsenal in midweek. He rewarded Vincent Kompany with an assist for Raphaël Guerreiro before scoring Bayern’s go-ahead goal in the third minute of stoppage to extend their unbeaten start in the Bundesliga.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Kompany commended Díaz.
“Lucho has got a kind of ‘chaotic creativity’. He can always do something in chaos,” said the Belgian. “As a defender, I always found it uncomfortable to play against such players because you never know whether you have the ball under control or he has it.
“He kept his head up while on the ground and played a great pass.
“He did the exact same move in training yesterday. That’s a quality of his.”
