Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has this week spoken out on his future with the club.
Wide-man Vinícius of course proved himself a star performer once more on Tuesday night, as Real Madrid kicked their Champions League campaign back into gear.
After making the trip to The Etihad for the first leg of a playoff tie with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Los Blancos conjured up a trademark comeback, to emerge on the right side of a 3-2 result.
And the aforementioned Vinícius for his part played a leading role, credited with a pair of assists, including that for Jude Bellingham’s injury-time winner.
Speaking to the media post-match, though, it was the subject of his future which quickly took its place front and centre once more.
Vinícius has of course been tipped for a potential departure from Spain’s capital of late, yet to find an agreement on the renewal of his contract.
On Tuesday, though, the 24-year-old was keen to set the record straight:
“I will resolve the negotiation of my contract in the next few days and I will stay here for a long time. I have always said that my wish is to continue at Real Madrid.”
