Real Madrid’s defeat to Celta Vigo has triggered a crisis far deeper than the 0–2 scoreline. 

What unfolded at the Santiago Bernabeu was not just a tactical failure or a bad night, it was the clearest sign yet of a team emotionally unraveling. 

The performance exposed a group drained of intensity, lacking in composure, and visibly struggling under the weight of expectation. 

For Xabi Alonso, the collapse has raised uncomfortable questions about the mentality and cohesion of his squad.

Most of the post-match focus has been on the chaotic final minutes: the cards, the protests, the tension spilling across the pitch and the benches. 

But the quieter moments, both during and after the match, reveal a far more troubling portrait of a side losing emotional discipline.

Everything started after Fran Garcia’s sending-off. Minutes later, Alvaro Carreras saw a second yellow, and in the heat of the moment, Vinicius Jr. turned toward referee Alejandro Quintero Gonzalez with a stinging outburst. 

The scene was one of total frustration, with Madrid imploding. As recorded by Movistar’s El Dia Despues program, he protested angrily, stating, 

“More, more reds. Send us all off. Give everyone a red card. You guys are always the same, but we never get away with it. 

“It’s disrespectful that there are only 5 minutes of added time.”

On the touchline, tempers were no calmer. The Real Madrid bench erupted in disbelief, and soon Endrick was sent off as well. 

The tension spread into exchanges between players and staff. After Garcia’s dismissal, Alonso was heard saying, “Fran, don’t mess with me.”

Kylian Mbappe also approached the referee for clarity on the decisions, remarking, “This card is clear, but the first one…”

As the game slipped away, the referee ultimately expelled three Real Madrid players. 

Carreras, furious after receiving his red, confronted the official, saying, “You’ve been like this the whole game.”

Rodrygo, visibly incensed and pointing toward the Bernabeu crest, demanded respect from the referee, telling him, “You have to show respect, look where you are.”

Valverde added to the chorus of protests, declaring, “You can’t send him off.”

Lastly, the tension carried all the way to the tunnel. Jude Bellingham, unable to contain his anger, lashed out at the fourth official with the remark,“You’re an idiot.”

As a result, Franco Mastantuono intervened immediately, pulling him away before further damage could be done.
