WatchGuard Technologies, a global leader in unified cybersecurity for managed service providers (MSPs), has become the Official Cybersecurity Supplier of Girona FC. The North American company and the Club have signed an agreement that will allow Girona FC to incorporate its security technology into the Club's digital infrastructure to protect against cyberattacks.

The agreement makes WatchGuard a key pillar of Girona FC's digital defense at the Montilivi stadium and at the training centre, in Vilablareix, the shops, and the Les Hortes residence.

The Club will adopt WatchGuard's Unified Security Platform architecture, which includes advanced network security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and endpoint security, as well as advanced detection and response services that, using artificial intelligence, identify threats across networks and endpoints and activate automated responses to minimize risks and protect against the constant increase in cyberthreats. The entire security ecosystem is centrally managed within WatchGuard Cloud, providing greater visibility, control, and response capabilities to cyber threats, thus strengthening operational continuity and confidence in Girona FC's digital environment. The platform will be implemented with the support of Parlem Telecom, the Club's technology partner, which will act as integrator and provider of the managed service.

Delfí Geli, president of Girona FC, highlighted the importance of this strategic alliance: "This agreement with WatchGuard allows us to take a step forward in a fundamental aspect such as cybersecurity. Protecting the Club's information and systems is key in an increasingly digital environment, and doing so alongside a leader like WatchGuard gives us peace of mind and confidence to continue growing."

Marc Jordi, IT Manager at Girona FC, emphasizes that “The incorporation of WatchGuard technology marks a milestone in our digital transformation strategy. In an increasingly connected environment, having a robust and unified cybersecurity platform is essential to ensure the Club's operational continuity and the protection of our digital assets. This step reinforces our commitment to a digital Girona FC that is secure and prepared for the present and the future.”

“WatchGuard is incredibly proud to become the official cybersecurity supplier of Girona FC,” said Michelle Welch, CMO and SVP of business strategy at WatchGuard. “We’re fully aligned with this exciting Club’s commitment to growth and excellence, and we look forward to defending FC Girona’s digital environments against cyber threats, while the team stops attacks and wins matches on the pitch.”

This agreement reaffirms Girona FC's commitment to innovation and the protection of its digital assets from cyberthreats.
