FLW asked ChatGPT to predict how the Rams will get on under John Eustace in 25/26.
Derby County fans wondering where their beloved Rams might finish this season now have AI having its say on the matter.
The East Midlands outfit avoided relegation on the final day of last season, largely thanks to John Eustace's appointment in February.
45-year-old Eustace has signed ten players (as of August 14th), and mentioned to BBC Sport the possibility of bringing in more "if the right ones are available."
With this in mind, FLW asked ChatGPT to predict Deby's final league position for 25/26.
ChatGPT's prediction has Derby County finishing 13th in the Championship, which is clear progress from their 19th-place position last season.
It noted the "managerial continuity" provided by Eustace, saying that keeping the Rams up last year meant he earned a lot of plaudits.
Derby won six and drew three of their final 14 matches under the former Blackburn Rovers boss - including a four-game winning streak.
The prediction puts emphasis on the Rams' upgraded attacking options, following multiple signings during the summer window. ChatGPT specifically mentioned Patrick Agyemang's £5.8m arrival from Charlotte FC and Rhian Brewster coming in on a free, having last played for Sheffield United.
Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, ChatGPT tipped Patrick Agyemang as the man to follow on from Ebou Adams and win the Jackie Stamps Player of the Season award.
The 24-year-old United States international is Derby's most expensive signing since David Clowes took control of the club. For Charlotte, Agyemang scored 22 goals in 72 appearances across all competitions.
AI suggested the American could finish as the Rams' top scorer and be the difference in "tight" away games.
However, it said Agyemang will miss the opening games due to Hernia surgery. This is partly true - but the forward is expected to miss "several" matches, as per BBC Sport.
The 13th-place prediction could satisfy Derby fans, because, after all, it would be an improvement on 24/25. Prior to the season starting, Eustace said in an interview that his side is "nowhere near the finished article."
"We want to try to change our style of play and not be as direct as we were last season, but that is going to take time, that is a slow process," he added.
This suggests that mid-table could actually be what Eustace has in mind - and he is someone that doesn't like to get carried away with expectations.
Ultimately, AI said that Derby will be "banking" on their forward signings from this summer window and have a manager that has proven before he can keep them up.
Whether ChatGPT's crystal ball proves accurate obviously remains to be seen, but 13th is an actually realistic prediction for AI to make in this situation, although Patrick Agyemang would need to hit the ground running straight away if he is to be the Rams' best player this season.
