Ipswich are expected to be at the high end of the Championship table throughout this season.
Ipswich Town are one of the favourites to win promotion from the Championship this season and quickly re-establish themselves as a Premier League club.
As much as the signings that the Tractor Boys made last summer weren't enough to maintain their top-flight status, they have made them into a force to be reckoned with in the EFL, at least on paper.
Nine of the new permanent additions to Kieran McKenna's squad already had a strong Championship pedigree behind them that they have carried into this season, where Town are looking to replicate their exploits of two seasons ago.
Now, with former second-tier star Chuba Akpom on board, with more to follow, Ipswich supporters can be confident about their squad.
Add on top of that the quality of their manager, who has been linked with a number of Premier League jobs since he won his first promotion at Portman Road in the 2022/23 campaign, and Ipswich should have a recipe for a title challenge.
We got an interesting glimpse at what they, and their potential promotion rivals Birmingham City, will be like this season in a cracking first match of the new Championship campaign. A late penalty from George Hirst earned the East Anglian side a point at St Andrew's, but you feel that there could be more to come from McKenna and his players.
With that in mind, Football League World has asked AI - ChatGPT, specifically - to predict where Ipswich will finish this season.
According to the online technology's scour of the internet, many bookmakers, pundits and statistical markers point to Ipswich being the favourite to go one step further than they did last time and win the Championship.
One of the sources it used was Opta Analyst. Their supercomputer's analysis of all the teams in the English second division put Ipswich third, with an 8.1% chance of lifting the title come May.
ChatGPT has taken a similar stance to Opta. They believe that the Tractor Boys will mount another promotion push and believes that they will finish somewhere in the range from second to fourth. At the bare minimum, a high-ranking play-off spot is on the cards for Town.
The AI software says that Ipswich have a strong and stable squad and manager which should help them towards having another competitive EFL campaign.
If they do end up heading back to the top-flight at the end of this season, it will mark a third successive promotion in their last three EFL campaigns.
It wouldn't quite be the back-to-back-to-back promotions that Wrexham have achieved in order to reach the Championship this season, but it would still be an incredibly impressive feat, nonetheless, and there's no reason why Ipswich shouldn't fancy their chances.
It's by no means contentious to say that they have one of the strongest squads in the division, if not the strongest. One thing that they have over the likes of Birmingham is the amount of experience their players have in this specific league.
That can't be understated, especially for those who have already experienced promotion pushes, like the captain, Dara O'Shea, and all the players who were part of the 2023/24 squad.
If we get to the end of the season and Town haven't mounted a strong promotion push, a lot of people will look at the campaign as a failure.
