“We have to work our way out of this” - Krösche addresses Frankfurt slump | OneFootball

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche did not shy away from responsibility after his side’s 3–1 loss to Hoffenheim, describing the current situation as a challenging period for the club:

“It’s a difficult phase,” Krösche admitted. “Last year we had many high points, now it’s a tougher spell. We actually did a decent job for a while, but once the equalizer came, everything started to go against us.”

Krösche pointed to a visible drop in confidence after conceding: “We won fewer balls, and you could feel the belief slipping away from the players,” he said. “As those responsible for the sporting side, we are accountable for this situation. Of course the fans aren’t happy - they want success and a team that plays good, attractive football.”

Despite the frustration, Krösche urged calm and long-term thinking. “We have to keep a certain level of composure, work on the issues, and then the team will be successful again. That’s football sometimes,” he explained. “This squad has a lot of quality - we’ve seen that often enough. We will get through this phase and rebuild our belief.”

On the pitch, the players echoed that assessment. Can Uzun struggled to hide his disappointment, saying: “Right now, it’s just not good enough. I don’t know what to say - we’re lacking confidence and freedom and then results like this happen.”

Defender Robin Koch highlighted the recurring nature of Frankfurt’s problems. “We’re making the same mistakes as in recent weeks and failing to be there in the decisive moments,” he said. “The belief is missing, and when that happens, you lose games like this.”

The comments from Frankfurt’s camp painted a clear picture of a team low on confidence, but also one still convinced that quality and belief can eventually pull them out of their current slump.
