The Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo was once again absent from the starting eleven list for the game between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, although he did come on in the second half to try to once again salvage the game, as he had done in the game against Girona.

Furthermore, he was one of the few Blaugrana players who addressed the media after the game. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Uruguayan admitted that the team was sad after Sunday’s game, but he suggested his teammates to keep their heads up and continue fighting for their objectives:

“We’re sad, but we have to hold our heads up and keep going. We have a long season ahead of us, and we need to correct our mistakes.”

When asked about Yamal’s comments from before El Clasico, the defender defended his teammate:

“Look, I’m not going to talk about Lamine today. I’ll just say that he’s a great professional and that we’re happy to have him with us. He’s an adult and knows what he has to do.”

Araujo was also asked about Real Madrid players targeting the young winger and the brawl at the end of the game, to which he replied:

“I don’t know what happened… I just went to separate people. How Madrid takes it doesn’t matter to me. That’s their business.”

As Ronald Araujo mentioned, it is important that Barcelona keep their heads high and learn from their mistakes in this game to continue growing and competing for the big titles going forward.
