Trigoria is emptying just as Roma were starting to take off.
Eleven players are leaving the capital to answer the call-ups of their respective national teams.
A planned exodus, certainly, but one that comes at a time when Gasperini’s team is experiencing its best moment.
One player, however, who will not be leaving and will remain at the coach’s disposal is Wesley.
The Brazilian full-back was supposed to join Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for his second call-up to the Seleção, which has already qualified for the next World Cup.
However, the 2003-born player suffered a bruise in the victory against Fiorentina and has been forced to cancel his return home.
This decision was made in agreement with the Brazilian national team staff. Therefore, he will remain in Rome to catch up on upcoming busy schedules.
